How do membership fees work?
SAGS collects membership fees on a biennial basis to coincide with years in which we have a congress. Registration for a congress, regardless of what kind of member attends the congress, includes a two-year membership until the next conference.
I am a student. What is my membership fee?
BSc Honours students enjoy free membership for the duration of their Honours year, or until the next SAGS conference. For other students, the membership is R150 for two years until the next conference (pro rata). A two-year membership is included in registration for a SAGS conference.
I am an academic. What is my membership fee?
The full membership fee is R300 for two years (pro rata) until the next conference. A two-year membership is included in registration for a SAGS conference.
When and where is the next conference?
The next SAGS conference will be held in the Free State (South Africa) in the second half of 2018. It will be a joint conference with the South African Society for Bioinformatics.
